A Sydney Start-up that’s going places.
espresso Displays is fast becoming the go-to company for on-the-go professionals who work from anywhere. As a Sydney-based start-up, they shipped their first product in 2019 with the launch of the world’s thinnest portable display. Since then, espresso Displays has rapidly evolved in its capability to deliver interactive display experiences. Today, the brand delivers innovation across a range of hardware and software applications that provide productivity anywhere for individual workspaces or team workplaces.
Purpose Design Lab has worked alongside espresso’s design team to deliver multiple products to market – most recently espresso 17 Pro, Stand Pro and its new portable power bank, Charge. From the initial concept stages, through prototyping, detailed design and manufacture, our team has seamlessly supported the design and development of these flagship products.

Details that make the difference.
espresso 17 Pro is an ambitious product and a major step for the brand. As the world’s most powerful portable display, it’s a premium machine designed for sophisticated and discerning users. Evolving espresso’s material pallet by introducing pops of colour and user-centred detailing was critical to its development – a process that Purpose Design Lab made possible with our expert knowledge in colour, material and finish applications.
The deep black anodised aluminium of 17 Pro delivers quality and accuracy uncommon in a portable display market that is often associated with cheaper builds and product design. The product was manufactured to tight specifications and provides a stunning yet highly functional result. Introducing coloured highlight components also builds on espresso’s brand, simultaneously making their products instantly recognisable in a market filled with many products that carry similar dimensions and tones.

This stand is capable of supporting the new, large format 17 Pro display at all heights and positions. The integrated fold-out kick-stand provides the ultimate support, angle and stability for digital artists needing a movement-free surface. The magnetic head attaches instantly with confidence, reducing set-up time.

Support at every step
Our team has supported espresso Displays throughout the entire design process for 17 Pro. From initial concept sketches to detailed design and manufacturing support. Our technical knowledge has ensured we have been there, guiding the way throughout the process, culminating in delivery of the product to customers in late-2023.
Our team also curated and delivered a suite of photo-realistic renders and animations to support a range of espresso Displays products. The team’s technical prowess in replicating materials, studio lighting product articulation and interactions resulted in marketing collateral that makes the market go, “Wow!”
